1. PREPARE FOR HARDWIRE

Step 1: Prepare Network Infrastructure

  • Internet Connection: You only need a network cable connection, placed in a safe location to avoid impacts, keep away from pests, and ensure air circulation (Note: Do not place it in a closed box).
  • For the Internet connection, you need to switch the operating model to Bridge mode ( READ MORE).
  • Connect the network cable from the bridged connection to port number 4 (the rightmost WAN port) on NextZen. The remaining 3 ports are LAN ports.
  • Connect network cables from the LAN ports to other devices.
  • For devices such as Wi-Fi routers or Mesh systems, you need to switch to Access Point mode ( READ MORE) to ensure the firewall system operates correctly. We suggest customers purchase some Wi-Fi or Mesh devices that are compatible with NextZen, such as: (READ MORE).
  • If using the NZ 168 plus model for Camera version, you need to prepare NextZen cameras according to the required number of cameras and a POE Switch for the cameras (to meet the port requirements for the number of cameras, maximum 16 cameras). Connect the network cable from the cameras to the ports on the Switch. Connect the network cable from the NVR port or LAN port on the Switch to the LAN port on the NextZen device.

Step 2:

  • Prepare at least one HDD or SSD with SATA interface (depending on your usage needs), then insert it into any tray on the device. The light will turn on to indicate that the tray is active.
  • Connect the power cable to a 220V power source, the system will automatically operate (Suggestion: You should use a UPS to stabilize the power supply and help the NextZen device last longer).
